THE 36TH MALAYSIAN SOCIETY FOR MICROBIOLOGY SYMPOSIUM 2023

We are pleased to announce that the Malaysian Society for Microbiology (MSM), in collaboration with JAMSKL will be organising the 36th Symposium of the Malaysian Society for Microbiology 2023 from 22 to 23 November 2023 at the Hotel Bangi Resort, Selangor.

The theme for the symposium is "Building Resilience: Microbial Solutions for Global Challenges''. The world that we know today is constantly evolving and coping with climate change, diseases, and the depletion of bioresources. To mitigate these issues, new discoveries are made on the key role of microbes that can provide alternative solutions to some of these issues. There will be new discoveries of new groups of microbes, and innovative microbial applications in biotechnology and industries. As microbial research intensifies, there are new milestones in multiomics approaches, as well as breakthroughs in agriculture, applied, environmental and food microbiology. New knowledge and solutions are also made in understanding emerging infectious diseases in the tropics and beyond. New initiatives are also made in fostering interests in the communities via microbiology education.

This year’s MSM2023 will be held in Bangi, Selangor. We invite all who are passionately involved in microbial research to submit their research abstract and share with us their significant findings. MSM2023 will be a significant platform to share new ideas, enhance networking, and foster collaborations to discover new microbial solutions. We welcome all submissions that highlight both the fundamental and applied studies in microbiological research. We sincerely hope that you will join us and we look forward to receiving your fine work and to your presence in the upcoming symposium.

We hope everyone in the field of microbiology will join us on this endeavour to learn, connect, collaborate and strengthen fundamental, clinical and translational microbiological research in Malaysia.
